Boredom Breeds Creativity
With nothing more than 1mm drawing pen and a brush I began to draw a dog in motion. I will leave it up to you as what he is to intrigued by; a tender piece of meat? a bone, a beautiful poodle? Who knows. I did not use water colour for this image I used a thin wet brush to pull the ink from the page and spread it around to create shadow. I am pleased with this sketch and will use more like it. I find drawing in pen very unforgiving but it forces you to be more economical with each stroke. It just goes to show; boredom breeds creativity.

Maya 3D Walk
George gave us a modelled and rigged character called 'Burt', a mini robot, to animate. I really enjoyed working on this. Once I had the walks down I thought I would add something a little special at the end. I would like to apologize for the slow frame rate, that was a result of bad setup habits in Maya. However it does allow us to analyze the work I have done in more detail. Enjoy.

Dee Pose
On the 8th of November I was supposed to submit 3 different 'Dee' poses to the learning space for George to mark. We spent last week at the Bradford Animation Festival so I had not done the work. Below is the competed Dee poses however late. The first pose is out character creeping along gently so as not to be noticed. The second pose is our charcter walking a tight rope trying to maintain balance. The final pose is our charcater walking while feeling sad. I enjoyed this task but after being away from Maya for two weeks it took some time for me to get back to grips with it. I have saved the 'Dee' figure to my hard drive and I plan to experiment with it further in the future.

Life Drawing Session
We had a life drawing class with Derek this morning. I enjoyed it. He had us experiment with different ways of using the charcoal; using it on its side I found really helped my while experimenting with break the body down into shapes, much less useful. I think I will put up more life drawings as the course goes on. Belo are the best three sheets from today. Enjoy.
